The third round of training workshops in the framework of FP7 EXTEND project was held on March 31, 2011 in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. The purpose was to prepare and assist the researchers for participation in Call 8 of FP7, which will be launched on 26/07/2011.
The training seminar was focused on the opportunities, procedures, thematic priorities of FP7 ICT Work Programme, which were identified during the consultation seminar in Moldova and will be opened in Call 8.
During the training the practical aspects of participation in the Framework Programme were presented (delivered by EXTEND project coordinator Mr. Raphael Koumeri and ICT NCP Elena Zamsa), which have aroused the interest of participants and resulted in numerous questions regarding:
1. Funding Opportunities
2. Develop project proposals based on their ideas
3. Creating successful consortia
The event was attended by over 30 representatives of the scientific community, business and academia, as well as other organizations related to the topic, like the State University of Moldova, the Pedagofical State University, the Center for Special Telecommunications, the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science, the National Center for Health Management, the EToolsLab, the Uniflux-Line, the Information Society Development Institute.
The most important activity of the seminar was the presentation of project proposal ideas by participants. Overall were presented 7 ideas, which were discussed by participants with assistance of Mr. Koumeri and evaluated in terms of possible participation in FP7 ICT Calls.
As a result, six participants who had the most interesting proposals ideas will be supported to participate to the ICT Proposers' Day 2011 which will take place from 19 to 20 May 2011 in Budapest (Hungary) and to the Conference "THE WAY FORWARD FOR The Information Society in the Eastern Europe and South Caucasus countries: Priorities and Challenges ", which will take place from 16 to 17 June 2011 in Tbilisi (Georgia).
